Mr. C and I have been married now for almost a year and half. When I think about all we have done within that time frame, it seems like we have been married so much longer than that. Moving to another country, moving back to the United States, moving to another state…and that’s just the moves! You can imagine why I am starting to like the idea of settling down somewhere.
Anyway, with all those changes going on, I was never able to do the normal things that early wives do, like posting tons of wedding pictures on all of their social media platforms or creating and buying mass amounts of unnecessary Mr. & Mrs. items. I mean, I didn’t actually want all of those things, but it would have been nice to have the option. I only wanted one or two items to remember my wedding day. Something small and meaningful. The only item I could really think of that met that description was a “coffee table” type book with some of our engagement and wedding pictures in it.
I went this direction for two reasons:
1. When people come over that are meeting us, they like looking at pictures of your wedding, but they also don’t want to see every picture of Uncle Joe and Cousin Sally that was taken. A book gives a nice synopsis for them to get a glimpse of the day.
2. I get to re-visit that day in my mind more often because I have a nice book to look at every once in a while without pulling out all of the pictures that could take me hours to look through. (Which I literally spent hours doing last week. Seriously. No joke, kids.)
I kept getting emails from this company called Zno about a $5 trial flatlay photobook, so I decided to try it out. (I am a sucker for email persistence.)
To be honest, the online layout wizard was not exactly a piece of cake to navigate, but anyone that is semi-computer literate could probably figure it out eventually. My whole issue was that I was tied to certain layouts and whenever I tried to alter it, the wizard would give me an error message. After a while, I gave up and just put pictures in their layouts and was still pretty pleased with the results.
They have quite a few options that I didn’t use that I could see being fun for other projects like headers, stickers and text boxes.
Shipping was extremely fast for it being a personalized product. I ordered my book on Saturday and received the package on Wednesday.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the book when I opened it! (I mean, you can’t blame me for being skeptical. It was for a $5 trial.)
The pages are nice and thick to avoid bends or creases. The page finish is a nice matte gloss. Overall, I think it was a successful purchase and I would recommend it to a friend! (Also, I am not being paid to say this. Even if I was, I would still be honest if the product was awful.)
I had a lot of fun going through my wedding and engagement photos to put together this book. (If you feel like making one yourself, here is a link to their website!) It’s fun to look back and re-live certain moments in your life, big or small. I encourage you to do the same sometime soon. It could really give a boost of joy for your week.
I am always taking suggestions of things I should do or try! Comment or message me if you have any ideas of events or places you would like to see!
